It seems as if no one really bothers with their blogs anymore. I'm sorta guilty of doing this, but perhaps for different reasons. I don't like the idea that Ravelry automatically shows your new posts. I suppose it is for the die hard crafter that likes to blog about projects. Everyone knows that isn't me. This is more of a personal space. Sorry no crafty content today...
I haven't really shared this with many... because hey it just isn't something you want to bum people out about on the holidays. However I will share that my last great crochet teacher has died. My Grandma has gone straight to heaven, and I am sure she is smiling down on me. I'm ok with it, but I will miss her for the rest of my life. She died on the 23rd, of December which is why I haven't shared with anyone. She went in her sleep which is the way that most of us should go.
I will be back shortly to clean up the blog, and to put a winter theme in my picture to the side.
Sorry I didn't wish anyone a Merry Christmas. I hope you all understand now.
I hope that every one has a "Happy New Year", and please don't drink and drive!

Won't you play?
I participated in the PAY IT FORWARD on Serenity Now's (Dixie Red Head's) Blog.
The way it works: I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog for this post. You don't have to be a regular commenter, as long as you can get me your address by e-mail. I don't know what you will be getting yet... but as the rules state, you will receive it within 365 days. Probably after the Christmas rush.
The only thing you have to do in return is PAY IT FORWARD yourself by making the same promise on your blog/site. Come on and join. This will be fun if you love getting presents in the mail.
Won't you join the fun?

Posting.....
Ok I'm getting a lot of flack from a certain someone (won't mention the name) that I don't post enough. Agreed! I just don't have much in the way of crafty goodness to show you lately that is all (as usual). I'm sowwy! Forgive me?
Lots of work is being done on the house. The decisions were made super quick last week, but they were projects that we had planned for a very long time. The siding was ripped off the front of the house, completely boarded up, and of course insulated. Yesterday the rest of the windows with the exception of the attic were installed. Today a big porch roof is being put up, and there are some big strong scarey looking guys outside. With that said I am staying inside. I should be taking some pictures, but they don't speak english very well (Polish), and I don't know if they would like that. I will take some later though, and you can see the bones of my porch for yourself. Oh I can't wait to sit out there and crochet, or surf the net. It will be wonderful! The stress is killing me right now though.
Bye for now! Thanks K for caring to remind me to post once in a while~

Ravelry Pressure!!!!
Ravelry is worth the wait people! Trust me on this one. The place is amazing as many of you already know. There is just so many things that make you want to move those hands with some nice soft yarn sliding between them. It's amazing. Get on the list or else you won't get in. Please all Crocheters out there JOIN! We have to keep the number even with the knitters, till we all can do both.
Among all of the projects that people are making/designing/showing off... there are just so many great people on there. Making life a pleasant co-existance with all of your familiar friends. All the big shot groups are all in one place, making it easy to keep current with your favorite group as well.
I know... I know just another person tooting the horn for Ravelry, but it really is a very creative place to be. It's also highly addictive, and hard to get off of the computer so please be cautioned!
Happy Wednesday Eve to all~

Is there anybody out there??
Hello All~
So sorry that once again I have been a bad blogger. As many of you know my life is hectic in strange ways, so please excuse my ignorance of my blog lately. Frankly I don't know why any one of you would want to read it, but hey I do get some responses, and that is worth something.
I'm starting to feel a bit better about my world. :) I think that is a good thing. Naturally being a woman I don't feel so great about my body lately... but heck most of us don't so why bother dwelling on stuff that we can't immediately change. My husband who is normally skinny as a bean pole, and in my opinion still is has the same issues. He is terribly congeous of his little beer belly. I guess it is because he doesn't drink. Who knows? I'm thinking that since we are the same age that probably has something to do with the whole weight gain thing. Now atleast I may have a live in partner where weight is problem. You have no idea how frustrating it is to be on a diet and watch your husband eat anything that he wants without worry. So now we just laugh.
Believe it or not I'm still working on potholders over here in Jersey! They are nice and quick to make, and I plan on giving them as gifts with some food items for Christmas. Sugar and Cream is now on sale this week at your local A.C. Moore for $1.19!!! Woo hoo..... just wish that I could find some freaking orange! If anyone has any give me a holla will ya?
My puppy is doing ok. I can't seem to get rid of the mange (not contageous) completely on my own. I'm still trying though. Funny thing is she is getting use to getting lots of baths now, and kinda looks forward to it. Isn't that weird for a dog? I know I have my kitties still, and I love them dearly but dogs are just so heart tugging. I don't want to leave the house for long periods of time. It really sucks! In a good way.... I think.
I don't know if I blogged about it, but I was considering for some time trying to have another child. That friggin clock was ticking really loud for some reason when I hit 40. Then I got the dog, and said hell no! This is enough kid for me! I've been through the diaper thing already, now the baby (dog) occasionally pees on the floor. Thats ok with me, as long as I don't hear screaming in the middle of the night. Wow now I'm remembering.
My daughter Chris is still sitting on the fence about whether or not it is working out with the bf. We really are going crazy with this situation. My Mom is playing games, and I don't want to get into it.
Other than that life is good.... because Andy Pettitte hit 200 last night in Yankee Stadium!!! haha Karen!!! Besides that we are now not worried about that stupid wild card anymore.
Bye for now all~

Bad blogger!
I'm sorry to anyone that has checked in on my silly blog and has seen how bad I have become once again with blogging. Bad me!
Thank you for all of your comments on my chicken. Finally I had the guts to show you all that I really do crochet with something silly, and you all were nice enough to say hello. Even some of you that I never met before. My hat is off to you! Thank you! The flowers... well they fell off the door and the dog ate some of them. Most came back up, but they weren't pretty anymore. lol
Lots of things have been going on in my house, as some of you may know. My daughter moved back!!! Yah - Then my daughter moved out!!! :(
Things have been crazy over here in Jersey. Can't get much done with my head in a cloud, so I am at a stand still right now. I have been enjoying visiting all of your blogs whenever my butt gets to sneak online. I have been pretty good about leaving comments and such, so know that you are all in my thoughts. Some of you, more than others, as you are having some really difficult times right now. I'm always here to email!!!
It seems like something is always going wrong for me, but I am keeping my chin high, and I am not feeling sorry for myself this time. I do feel incredibly bad for my daughter. I really feel that I must kiss and makeup with her, but I also think that she needs to learn a lesson about the hardship of life. Not the life that your parent's continually protect you from. I'm not sure which way to go on this one. Any advice from other parents of semi-adults would be nice. :)
Bye for now. I will be good, and post something fun shortly. No matter what my mood!
P.S. Those pot holders are addictive to make!

My Chicken!

These are the cruddy, dusty ones from last year. They usually don't look this bad, but the husband smokes in the bathroom where they are... so... they look cruddy!
Here are my new beauties that I cut and striped of their leaves. The bugs are ugly so please shake outside well.
Now we all know we have a bunch of these twist ties hanging around the house. I love to use these with all things plant related. Yeah they sell them, but you don't see them anyway, and it's always good to recycle! Right?

You kinda play around with the stems, and align your colors the way that you like them. Speaking of color I use coffee grinds in the spring before blooms to make my blues more blue. Just sprinkle around your bush... ummm you know what I mean! BTW... that is my ugly tatooed hand there.
Find your most secure or prettiest flower and secure that to your nail, screw, or in my case towel hanger. If you fight with them enough, and twist enough... (no don't dance) you may soon have something that looks like this. A bow is needed but you get the point.

It's like having a bouquet of flowers in the bathroom. When they begin to dry some of them just don't make the cut. Usually the pink ones go first. Just keep adding to them till the summer is over. The blue, and purple always last through the year. There are many ways to flower dry, but I find the upside down method the best for me since it is the easiest.
When I vacationed in Nantucket, MA years ago I met a vendor with a cart on the street selling dried hydrangeas. She bundled them up with fancy ribbons holding them together. They looked so cute, and she was making a lot of money (I was watching stunned). Not being shy I asked her how she dried them. She said that she held them over a candle which absorbs the water, which dries them up quickly. I have never tried it, but if you do let me know how it goes. Please just don't burn down the house!!!
Have a great weekend all~
