Thank you for the Prayers!

Everyone is doing better! Thanks to all of the prayers, and kind wishes sent my way.

Dad came out of the hospital on Saturday. He is not completely out of the woods, but we are hoping that a new Dr. might help. The ass that is taking care of him finds nothing wrong. Even though Dad can't walk the Dr. suggested some laps around the mall nearby. I wonder if he wants him to drive there himself as well... ASS

Grandma is completely fine now! Unbelievable that they caught her stroke in time for that miracle drug. One minute she didn't know who anyone was, and the next day she was the same Grandma as before. Thank you to those quick thinking Drs. who knew that lots of people love Grandma. They saved her for us! You wouldn't know that this strong woman was 88 years old. She loves life, and embraces every moment. I have to send her some yarn! : ) I love Grandma!

I'll write again soon. Hopefully I will have some of my afghans put together so I can take some pics. I have squares, and strips everywhere in my house. Keeps the hands busy anyway!

Now my Grandmother!

My Mother, and I had spent a nice day together yesterday shopping. My Dad didn't want any visitors, cause he just wanted to sleep. I think they were giving him sedatives for a test they wanted to do on his lungs. His blood gases came back negative again, and once again they couldn't do the test. So sleepy he was with no results again. He called my cellphone to complain a few times either way, so I am sure he is feeling a little better.

So Mom, and I went for lunch near the local Rag Shop of course. We had a good time. My Mom isn't much for yarn, but well... that is right where my fingers headed. I got some of that Baby Bernat cotton to make some wash cloths, as well as a pattern book to make them. Not that I need to know how to make a square. I just needed another book to hide from the husband! lol

Well we came home, and bullshitted for a while. She got tired, and wanted to go home which is close-by. A little while later as a migraine was befalling me, my Mom called with bad news. She said that my Grandmother had a stroke. My Grandma lives about 3 hours away so it would be no easy feat to get to her, so we waited for some good news. Mom played phone tag all night with my Aunt, and called while I just dosed off with some pain medication which wasn't helping. She said that it didn't look good, but that she would call me in the morning. I didn't sleep well either way.

Well when I called her this morning she said that my Grandmother is doing much better. They had given her that new miracle drug, and she was slowly coming out of it. I'ts weird cause I just saw an episode of ER a few weeks ago concerning that medication. Thank you to whomever created it. Maybe Grandma will be back to Atlantic City in no time!

Well gotta go visit Dad in a bit. I hope that he isn't cranky this time. I'll be sure to bring my yarn with me either way, and make some wash cloths.

Please keep praying everyone! It really is working!

Thank you everyone!

I guess that blogging really does help somewhat. When I wrote about my Dad last week he was doing really shitty. Yesterday my Mom said that he was sitting in a chair when she visited him. That was great news. He hasn't wanted to get out of the bed for weeks now. He is really pushing to come home! His mental state isn't what it should be, but we think that has something to do with medication. We are hoping that is all it is at the moment. The tests keep saying all is ok... but who knows except the big man/woman upstairs!

Thank you to everyone that passed by and left me a comment. It really means alot when you know that someone out there is reading your blog. The personal connection that it brings is the best. All I wanted to do was sound off, and I received so many nice words from my cyber buds. Thanks to all of you.

Bye for now~ I'm going to surf your blogs!

Hello

First of all I'd like to say hello to my one and only commenter Rebecca. You were wondering where I was. Well Rebecca, I've just been hanging around the hospital lately. I know that this is a little depressing, but I am trying to hold on to some hope that my Dad will be ok soon. It doesn't look that way, but we have hope. Like I keep telling my Mother "Prepare for the worse, and hope for the best". His kidney's are fading fast, and the meds don't seem to be kicking in.

Today is my Dad's 61st birthday. I just had to convince my sister on the phone that a party in a hospital bed just isn't what he wants, or needs. Since she does live a distance, I did tell her to please visit him on this special day. I also explained that we could hang some pictures of some funny things on the wall. We are a family of cat lovers, and always fight to get the best birthday card with a cat on it. I thought that would be the best idea. She doesn't realize that he has been extremely disoriented, and doesn't even realize that we (my mom, and I) are there at times lately. When he does recognize us he starts yelling at my Mom about something or other. Yesterday he thought he was going fishing on his boat, and today he thought he was leaving the hospital when we came in. He wanted the nurse to remove his needles.

I sure hope that everything turns around, but God does have his purpose for making people act the way that they do before he takes them. I sure hope this isn't the case, but unfortunately I have seen it before.

Sorry this has been a downer of a read. I've just been pretty depressed, and I think that it helps to type it out on here sometimes.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Life is crazy... isn't it?

Well the husband is off to work today, and I am so glad to have some time to myself without him underfoot. Trust me I love having him around the house, but two months is enough! Well ...he is working, and I am here trying to get some things done today.

I haven't really been doing much lately except watching a lot of court TV. I just can't believe that Michael Jackson showed up in his PJs last week, but oh well... I guess it was fitting. He probably wanted to remind the kids of what he looked like at those sleep overs... lol I'm not sure what other's think, but he looked like he was having a major breakdown. Who could blame him? He's older than me, and he put himself in this position. He's a moving target for these lawsuits. Its a shame that nobody close to him has the balls to tell the guy that HE is a guy!

Family is doing better. Dad is feeling a little better. Not mentally, but physically. You know guys! They are all the same no matter the age. I hope that he pulls himself out of this rut that he is in. He is driving my Mom crazy!

Ok gotta run, and get some actual work done. Also will be crocheting up a storm tonight. I have a ton or so of squares to get done for one of the swaps that I am in. Out of here for now!

Thursday all day!

Well I am finding that I can't sleep! It could be due to the fact that I have to sneak on here to get anything done lately. The husband works seasonally, and with all of the snow we have been getting it is impossible to get online. He is in belief that I have an online lover trapped within the computer. I appologize to friends, and lovers alike! LOL

I am finally mailing the rest of my valentines squares out today... whenever I wake up...that is. The swap came to a close about a month ago, but complications in life arise... it can not be helped.

I think that I am going to stick with my favorite swaps on Crochetville from now on. Nice bunch of people, and the swaps are much easier to complete. Don't get me wrong or anything, I have had a blast hosting the valentines squares, it's just more fun having someone else host for a change. Sorry Tiff, Donna and everyone else!

I'll post some pictures ASAP. It is a difficult task. My husband is in constant need of attention! I don't get it, just when football season ends, I have to get him back...ugh! I'll just have to drug the poor dear with some nightquil or something! LOL

Well goodnight for now... and I am glad so many of you have been writing me about Adagio teas. I'm definitely going to try the flavored teas next time thanks to the comment from Mitzi.

Today is Tuesday!

Hello to all!
I have to say that I have been checking out everyone's blogs, and am completely caught up on the Adagio tea frenzy! I can't believe what a nice gift set I received from Adagio. I put their link on my site on Thursday, and received the tea diffuser, and four tea sampler set on Saturday. I was really surprised at how quick they are! What a nice gift for just putting their link up! Thanks Adagio, and the crochet bloggers. I will enjoy making some tea this afternoon, as well as ordering some of the flavored tea.

Hi Everyone

Not that I think that everyone visits my little ol' blog here, but I sure do. Whenever I get depressed it is here I come to feel even worse for not posting on my blog. I am sooo sorry to my friends that have been visiting, and have found the cobwebs creeping in. I hope to change that soon!

I have had some set backs in life recently. My step-dad (Dad) has not been feeling well, and I have been trying to be a patient, and caring person. With me that is usually unusual. Well maybe not... I think I come through when I am needed is all. Anyway we have been camping out in hospitals, and waiting rooms lately. I wish that I could say that I have been bringing my crochet along with me, but that is not the case. My head is just on the family right now.

My Valentine swap is almost over... thank goodness. I don't know if I will host a swap again. This was tough especially with all that has been going on. Either way I have received the most beautiful squares from this swap, and it will be the most beautiful afghan ever. Hopefully I will post some pictures soon.

My Winter Secret Pal with Crochetville will be getting her package very shortly. I know I am late with this as well, but I truly hope that she understands. I am sending her some nice little gifts as her last package.

Well gotta run. I don't even know if anyone will read this besides myself. I know that I will do the rounds and check on everyone else after I am done here.

Bye for now, Me

Sisters!

I haven't been able to get those pictures up here as yet. I am working on it though my friends! Just having a bit of family trouble now, which is getting in the way of ordinary things. You know that occasional wrench that gets thrown in to life once in a while? Well my sis, as much as I love her keeps getting involved in bad relationships. As much as my family tries to stear her in the right direction ~ well you know how it goes. She is 31, no kids (thank God). She continues to find the wrong guy no matter where he is in the world! So the complaints, and tears are what I have had to deal with for the past couple of days. I love her dearly with all of my heart, but alas she is a bum magnet!

Pictures... Pictures... Pictures

I know, I know... I have promised pictures. They will be on here tomorrow I promise. I am trying to figure out where to set up everything that I have received within the past three days. I want everything to look as great, as it does right here. I will officially thank my buddies that have sent me some really nice things though.

Mary S has sent my daughter Chris a beautiful little thread crochet square in Christmas colors, which I stole from Chris for the family tree. I would really like to do a separate tree in my office next year out of all squares like that. It is such a great reminder of all of the friends that I have made in the square swaps. That was from the Christmas ornament swap from Friends are like Family site.

From the same swap I received wayyyy to many goodies from my next pal Gloria. She was only supposed to send me an ornament, but she spoiled me. I guess that I know better than to ask to buy something from her from now on! She sent me the cutest things, wayyyy to many to mention (but there will be a picture with a description of all). She knows I'm either going to kill her or go to her house, and stay a week just to craft... lol... I'm not kidding! I think we are equally crazy when it comes to making things by hand.

Last but certainly not least, my bestest online bud Kenyetta sent me some wonderful goodies as well. She certainly is one talented knitter! Do yourself a favor, and visit her site just to check out the Barbie clothes that she is making. Unbelievable! You'll have to wait for the pictures of what she sent me as well, but I will tell you that some of them have to do with the squares swaps. She did make me some special squares, I am still overwhelmed~ (Kenny smooches!) Kenyetta's two girls Jasmine, and Khiande sent my daughter and I some wonderful goodies as well. We received two beautiful handmade ornaments: 1. A cute gingerbread man, and 2. A gorgeous Christmas tree. My daughter also received a little box to hide things in. They also drew me some fabulous pictures! Jasmine drew a great picture of one of my kitties in a Santa hat. (I wonder how she knows my cat wears one... hmmm) The kitty looks like she is patiently waiting for Santa to bring her something. Khiande drew me a picture that looks just like my tiny house, and Santa is coming down the chimney with a BIG bag of goodies. I sure hope he has my new SUV in there (I've been real good!). Well this is just a teaser. You will have to come back tomorrow to see just what I got. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! All five of you really made me, and my daughter feel very happy.

Yikes! Email Galore

Well this is the first time that I can actually say that I am burnt out from e-mail. The valentines square swap is doing great! Everyone is getting along with eachother, but WOW the e-mails it's generating! LOL I read each and everyone of them of course, and I am making so many great friends. I couldn't get to my e-mail yesterday, and so today WHAM - over 160 emails.~ Like I titled this... Yikes! Anyways we are all getting together, and meeting at Mary's house (she's a yooper) uh huh. We are going to drink ourselves silly while we all try and teach Kenyetta how to crochet (she's a knitter). Mary lives near a casino, and I think she really just wants us all to go and gamble. Cause lately through e-mail, that is all she is talking about. It could be that she is starting to fear we are going to mess the house, so she is trying to get us somewhere else (away from the house... hehehe). Now that she knows we are all (about 20 of us) going to her house...I think she is getting worried!!! LOL Mary you have to be careful what you wish for!!! We are coming with hooks in hands!!! .... and it is only fitting that since Kenyetta is a nurse she bring the needles (knitting of course).

Complete Overload!

That is exactly how I feel today! Blogger isn't working all that great today, and nothing else seems to be going well either. I'm trying to get some work done for my new boss, and I keep getting distracted (as you can tell). I have so much running around to do today it isn't funny. Now that I am working for hubby's friend, I think that hubby is getting a little jealous. Now he is overloading me with things to do for him! Ugh!!! All of the running around is for the hubby, meanwhile I am trying to create spreadsheets for boss #2 (I'll call him). Well I gotta go wake up the kid, and get in the shower to the running process... Wish me luck! Lots of it~

Gobble! Gobble!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

If anyone has been looking for me, I am sorry that I haven't been around. I have been running a Valentines square swap that has been keeping me pretty busy. Lots of emails to keep up with. All the same it is a lot of fun meeting lots of crocheters, and knitters. Its nice to share something in common with others.

I am sure that Kari is still screaming from the rooftops that Bush is safely back in his office! I for one didn't think he was going anywhere. I am also a Republican so I am very happy as well. Yes I did go out and vote~ it really does matter! I think it would be a grave injustice to show other countries that we have no trust in our leader by kicking him out of office.

I haven't been getting any of my swaps done lately. I am currently in wayyyy to many! Its not laziness, just no time. I have been making some Christmas presents for family. Squeezing out some winter accessories here, and there. I'm also concentrating on my secret pals (2 different swaps). All the presents are here, now I have to get them out.

My one secret pal from Crochetville sent me a nice card the other day. It was so sweet. I didn't realize that they had a site dedicated to Teddybear cards. I guess she noticed the teddy wearing the scarf in my picture. I must have about 100 bears. Currently they are in boxes in my basement. We were in the middle of re-painting the living room, and boxed them up. Well it has been a while, because we already need to re-paint, and my bears are still in them boxes in the basement. I guess I am lazy when it comes to certain things huh?

Well I hope to get some pictures taken soon. I know that I am always promising. The computer has been on the fritz, and I just got a new part time job at home. Why does everything happen around the holidays??? Can someone answer that???

Saturdays!

Well I have been really busy making lots of goodies for all of the good girls, and boys on my list. Mainly the easy scarf & hat Christmas gift, but I am planning others. I really should get a WIP bar up on my site. That might make me a little more motivated, and let you all know what I am working on.

I want to make some baby booties for a favorite nephew, who's very new to the family! I also want to make my daughter some shawls, as well as ponchos. Everybody has them, and she wants them too. Besides that she is always cold!

On another note ~ I received my scarf the other day from Kristina (LadyK) over at Crochetville. It is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much! I have to take a picture of it to share. It is pink to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness! It is so soft, and warm I've been wearing it when I crochet to keep the chill away. Geez... kid's cold, I'm cold! Sounds like I am cheap with the heat doesn't it? LOL Actually I like being a little on the chilly side. It keeps me awake.

I also sent out the one that I made for Jayme. Jayme has posted a picture of it on her site. She is so sweet! I hope she doesn't mind that someone else was caught wearing it first! Here I have a photo of the perpetrator!

Good thing she was caught Jayme or you might not have gotten the scarf!!! Look at those beady eyes!!! Whew... lol

I so love these swaps at Crochetville they really are the best group around!

Mischief Night! ~~~~~~~~

Finally! Pictures!

Well my wonderful secret pal giver from Crochetville has been revealed! It was Chie all along! Chie I know that I have thanked you already, but formally in public I want to say it here. You have been wonderful. You have cheered me up on days that I definitely needed cheering, and surprised me with sneaky cards, and posts on my site when I needed to smile as well. Whoever has gotten Chie in the Winter Secret Swap is a lucky gal/guy indeed! :) Chie's site is: http://chiescrochetandknitting.blogspot.com

Here are some pictures of my last wonderful package of goodies from Chie:

1). I got a handmade hook holder! Yee ha!! Look at that button! Another picture is below.
2). A beautiful handmade scarf in my favorite yarn ever!! Red Heart light & lofty pheasant.
3). A Pink K hook!! A nice reminder of breast cancer awareness month.
4). A kitty cat note pad set.
Here is another picture of the hook holder that Chie made:

Once again Chie, I can't thank you enough! This was my first swap, and I was extremely surprised when you told me it was your first one as well. You seemed to be a real pro at it. I hope that I get to spoil you someday!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have to say that I did make another friend in this swap. That would be my gift recipient Deborah at http://definitelydeb.com. We have been keeping in touch, and she is a great gal. I wish I could have gone on that cruise with her though.... shucks!! lol... I hope you had fun Deb, and that you are feeling better.
Ok off now to learn some more web junk that will eventually burn out my brain cells! LOL
Hi All!
Sorry that I have been absent lately! Thanks for pointing that out knitty kitty Cat! I have been waiting on my model to show off my scarf to be sent out for the scarf swap. Darn those skinny girls! They are expensive, and lazy! (my daughter! lol) Since it has to arrive to my scarf pal by the 31st I will photograph it with, or without my model today!!! I promise!!! I have been crocheting scarves like crazy for Christmas. I can't believe the great prices lately in my area on yarn. My newest favorite is the Jewelbox line. It is nice to work with, and the results turn out great. I am also loving the Heart Light & Lofty. I have to go and get more of that tomorrow. I made two scarves, and a hat yesterday with the Heart yarn. I just love quick results. Ok I am outta here now to get something done with the day. I promise pictures, and getting those buttons up!!!! Thanks to everyone that has put my link on their sites, its nice to see. I will get all of my favs up here to. I'm just fussy about how they look! Bye for now....
Columbus Day!
It was a beautiful, and chilly day. Screeech ok... I'll tell you why I was soooo excited. I got first dibs on someone's cleanout sale!! ... and it was all knitting, and crochet supplies!! Now I don't want to get anyone jealous here, but the attic was filled with wool in every color of the rainbow. Even colors that aren't in the rainbow. I don't work with wool, but to see that much yarn was like heaven!! lol Well I hope that is what it is like anyway. I wound up leaving with three hefty boxes of bulky weight yarn, some funky yarns, lots of heavy weight thread including glistening shades. Also I must have around 100 vintage crochet/knit books, and magazines. I have been having a blast looking at those.
All I can say is that I plan to go back. There is just so much more to look at. The two lovely people that I met, unfortunately lost their Mom (she lived to be 97). She taught crochet & knit in the basement many years ago, and now they are left with all of these supplies that they can no longer use. They are so happy to hook up with someone that loves the craft as well as someone they can look through these things with. We had a lot of fun, and they shared a lot of memories with me. We found doll clothes that the woman made for her daughter in a little trunk. The were so cute, and nice to hold. I can tell you honestly that before I left, we all had a good cry.
Most of you that know me, know that I don't work with wool. Mainly because my 20 year old daughter breaks out in a rash if she is near it. I have found that if she does not touch it, or know that it is in the house this is not the case. hehehe... I can tell you this much: I intend on learning how to felt!
I'll go for now, but if anyone has any suggestions for working with wool I would greatly appreciate it. Especially how to clean it!! I'll post some pictures of my goodies hopefully by the end of this week.
Tomorrow I will post about meeting my Secret Pal from Crocetville. You know who you are!! (Deb)
Just today!
Well I am sorry that I haven't written in a few. Just been down in the dumps, but I don't want to bring anyone else down with me. I have been working very hard on my squares to finish off the Christmas swap. I keep trying new patterns that I like, but find that the patterns are difficult unless I adjust to my own liking. lol thats me... Anyway I want to get one thing done at a time, and I would also like to make some presents for family members. I still haven't started on my scarf swap yet. Still a little confused about what to make for someone in a sunny state. I should have waited for the survey to come back first, because I went out and bought fun fur for the first time, and the person doesn't like it. However my daughter did peak in the bag, and screamed with glee when she saw it!! She said Mom I hope I didn't ruin a surprise for me or something. (It is her favorite color... pink) I told her that it was for one of my swaps, but I think she will be surprised at Christmas. I plan on using it with regular heavy weight soft yarn because it gets so cold here. Well I am off for now. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
This my Betty... she helps with stress!
From my Secret Pal ~
Well I know that you have all been patient with me. These pictures just aren't coming out the way that I would like, and I am the type that will spend hours trying to make them look good. This is the best I could do. It sure doesn't do my gifts any justice!! They are so much nicer in person!! Thank you Secret Pal, you literally pulled my frown upside down yesterday!
Starting from the left: A great pattern for crocheting and felting a basket,and a rug that my kitties, and I will love!!!
Top: One of those knifty clover cutters that I have been wanting so bad!
And: (big drumroll here) A handmade, and (designed by my secret pal) a cell phone cozy! That is my phone next to it just to show that yes it does fit, and also that it is going right back in it! It also has a nice big size wooden button that keeps it closed really nice. Hanging from my pocket book right where it should be is the greatest thing! Now I can actually find my phone in time to answer it. :)
I wonder what you all thought it was... hmmmm... LOL
Thanks again Secret Pal!!! ~ I hope that I am fortunate enough to get you again in another secret swap! Hey maybe I will the chance to send gifts to you next time... ;)
Yesterday!
Well I was on my way out the door, to go shopping with my Mom, and my daughter. I looked over at the mailbox, and to my great surprise there it was, another package from my secret pal! My mother, and daughter both looked at me strangely, because I would not put the package down as I did with my other mail. I was bringing it with me! I figured our first stop was lunch as usual, and I would open it then. Tell me who wants to wait?? After all I did hold out until the restaraunt... even though I was speeding! LOL As soon as we sat down I immediately started ripping, and gnawing at the package... lol My two favorite people were laughing at me, and also excited, as I screamed with happiness at each item that I pulled out of the package. Others were also trying to peak. It was like picking something secret of a hat, because I hate killing a surprise and spill everything out of a package. Each item has to have its own scream! lol Trust me I love everything! If I could have this secret pal year round I would! (hint, hint, hint) Anyway I will not ruin the surprise for any reader that stops by. You will have to wait until I post the picture later today. One thing I want to say to my secret pal is that you are a gem! You really put thought into everything, and I appreciate that so much. I will also tell you that I started using your handmade item right away, in the restaraunt. I do have one,it fit, and it is there now! LOL That sounds great... Bye for now all...
